Eastgate Studio presents “A History of Printmaking”
Discover over 1,000 years of printmaking, from early relief printing to contemporary techniques, through historic processes, working materials, and prints made in the studio today.
A History of Printmaking explores how artists have used wood, metal, stone, and screens to create images, from early woodcuts to contemporary studio practice. Visitors will see historic techniques, working materials, and prints by Eastgate Studio artists, alongside live demonstrations. Printmaking has played a vital role in communication, protest, education, and everyday life. This exhibition highlights its importance as both cultural heritage and living practice. The exhibition is free and suitable for all ages.
