Joseph’s work is typically colourful with the work presented here inspired by place, both the local area and places he‘s visited. In addition, his work is influenced by music, technology, architecture, industry, science, infrastructure and museum collections.

Born in Beverley, and now based in Hull, Joseph spent his formative years in East Yorkshire. He has over 10 years’ experience in the creative industries and his work encompasses illustration, graphic design, animation and print. His design work includes music festivals such as Humber Street Sesh and Slam Dunk, album artwork and promotion for independent record labels, local interest work, illustrated maps and museum activity books for cities.

Joseph’s creative process is rooted in digital tools, predominantly Adobe Illustrator. While some pieces begin as traditional sketches or compositional experiments, he often dives straight into digitally illustrating shapes and forms that intrigue him. “My compositions often evolve organically,” Joseph explains, “I start with an idea or an object that’s caught my attention, and the final direction emerges as I work.” These digital creations are then brought to life through the screen-printing process, a medium he’s particularly passionate about.

In addition to his artistic practice, Joseph co-runs Form Shop & Studio in Hull with his partner, Alice, where they showcase and sell their work. He also manages Juice Studios on Humber Street, supporting Hull’s vibrant creative community.
